Fun fact: Evy kicks away a king snake, whose bite isn’t actually poisonous. I remember learning that on PBS’s Zoboomafoo or something, so when I saw this film and they played it off as a venomous snake I was like “BITCH PLEASE.”
For future reference, this is how you can tell:
“Red near black, venom lack.
Red near yellow, kill a fellow.”
#I’m sure it was because of their budget. #And because they didn’t count on attentive little freaks like me. #who watched Animal Planet and PBS like it was their job.
SHUT THE FUCK UP, VERONICA.
#EVY IS A FIERCE EGYPTIAN PRINCESS LIBRARIAN GODDESS OF OPENING WORLD-ENDING OBJECTS. #SO FUCK YOU. #IT’S NOT VENOMOUS BUT IT’S STILL A SNAKE IN AN ANCIENT TOMB AND THAT SHIT AIN’T KOSHER.
I’m JUST SAYING that as the well-read, queenly librarian that she is, Evy should be able to tell the difference between a king snake and a coral snake.
#Aaaaand that Stephen Sommers probably just figured that no one would notice. #Which I mean…obviously you didn’t.#GINA.
There’s really nothing here suggesting she specifically thinks it’s poisonous, VERONICA. She just doesn’t want it near her because it is a fucking snake.
